North Notts Arena – Sun 7th July

Another early start from Leek to Worksop for the North of England Championship. The Revolution Tournament at North Notts Arena.
Always feel anxious and stressed at these MMA boxing competitions as they’re much more fast-paced and aggressive than the TAGB Taekwondo tournaments.
VENUE
The venue was like an old tin warehouse with marquee drapes inside. The location looked a little run-down and derelict. We were lucky to arrive just after 9am to get a parking space – several other cars were gridlocked because of inconsiderate drivers parking on the end of rows blocking exits.

COMPETITION
Seating set out for spectators were mostly taken up by bags and training kits. The were right in front of the areas – 6 in total if I recall correctly. We were sat on the floor at the edge of the arena with all our kit bags.
The competition started fairly promptly once competitors had weighed-in for their categories.
6 areas in total today and juniors were all scheduled to compete first.
Tyler – round robin – bronze
Lost both fights but gave a good solid performance with a flurry of head-kicks.
Ashton – 2 x Bronze medals
Should’ve won his points fight – the winner went on to get gold, Ashton got third place bronze.
Competed and won his bronze place
Ethan
Lost out on his fights. Very close calls and decisions unfortunately went against him this time round. Very proud of his performance all the same.
Overall
Ashton Bronze point-stop 🥉Bronze Continuous 🥉
Tyler Bronze point-stop 🥉
